Hubby’s Travel… Tasik Kenyir, 2013

FOR SOMEONE WHO travels frequently abroad for work, hubby’s idea of an ideal holiday is staying home. However, on 18-21 September 2013, he planned a holiday to Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu, more than seven hours’ drive from home.

This was one vacation I was extremely happy for him to go WITHOUT me and the kids, and didn’t miss him one bit as I knew he would be having the time of his life.

I knew it would be a meaningful trip for hubby, spending those few days with his father, an uncle, a childhood friend and a brother-in-law – all in the family, all guys and all angling enthusiasts.

Looking at the photos that he took of the trip, and more than 600 shots that his buddy MK shared, I have no doubt it was a trip he would treasure for years to come (except for the fact that Papa got a little strained from all the hiking, and the elusive fishes that refused to bite their baits!)

Here are some of the photos hubby took while those shared by MK are credited to him.

Day 1: Travelling in two cars from different starting points, they arrived and met some seven hours later and finally arrived at Tasik Kenyir past 2pm. They took a boat to the rest house where they put up for the next three nights.

All couldn’t wait to put their fishing rods to use that very afternoon.

Working together to prepare dinner … sausages and chicken wings when Tasik Kenyir is full of fish??? One can only guess why :-)

What awaited them at the end of the walk was all worth it.

A short boat ride away are the waterfalls where they took a cool dip.

On their way back to the rest house, they tried their luck at fishing again.

Day 3… Canoeing at the lake around the rest house.

On their last night, the guys took a final fling at fishing by the lake… Dr AC with the catch of the day (and dinner too!). This sebarau deserved another shot before ending up in their stomachs 🙂
