Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

THE YEAR 2013 ended on a quiet note, but a sweet one…

A great start to the new year from dad, mom and sister…

A great start to the new year from dad, mom and sister…

… with loads of good wishes and messages from family, relatives and friends.

I will fondly remember the first new year message came from YP at 12.01am. A former colleague of two years (during which we’d worked, travelled, laughed and cried together), our friendship has lasted 22 years now. I was extremely touched by an sms she sent me back on 18th November 2012 which said: “Hi, I was reading a copy of Calvin and Hobbes today. When I came to the last page, I realised then that it was a birthday gift from you. You wrote a lovely note “… that unlike Hobbes who is an imaginary friend, we are real friends.” Its pages are yellowing a bit but it is most precious to me, esp now that the years have gone by. It’s such a wonderful, wonderful keepsake now.” Thank you YP!

I also had a good hour-long chat via WA with a dear schoolmate now in Singapore. Thank you ST for sharing all those wonderful photos and updates.

And all these while I was keeping Little Em company on the board game!

My own keepsakes… a lovely message from M when she was six; a palace fit for Queen Bee from Little Em today!

And another from Little Em.

And another from Little Em. Clearly her drawings of humans have improved a lot compared to last year (see below).

This was from the girls last year.
